Nurturing creativity and respecting our children is important to us. Listening and validating the point of view of our children is an empowering exercise to help mold the leaders of tomorrow. Parents are encouraged to participate and be a part of their children's' special activities.
We celebrate diversity and highlight the cuisines, flags and holidays from different ethnic backgrounds. We bring the outside world to our children and bring our children to the outside world.
Kinesthetic learning, which is learning by touching, and experiential learning, which is learning by doing, are fundamental to our teaching models. Finding parallels and reinforcing lessons is an important part of experiential learning. Character and socio-developmental teachings are embedded in our daily activities. Teaching children to introspect, which is to think about their actions, and think about the feelings of others, allows them to understand how they impact the world and how the world impacts them.

Thank you for taking the time to visit Scholars Garden web page. I have a Bachelor of the Arts in Speech Pathology and Audiology. I am a NYS Group Family Daycare Licensed Provider. My commitment to early childhood education began with my desire to give my two daughters valuable tools for academic success. As a mother, my commitment to my daughters' early childhood literacy and early math skills inspired me to give back.
Using the tools from my education and personal experiences, I developed a program to nurture the same skills within the children in my community. My best friend, Ms. Denise, and my mother, Ms. Dolores, have been great partners who helped me execute the vision of adding the community to my family.
